Google drive launched with many features and 5 GB free storage you can install Google drive software to easy sync your files from your computer to Google Drive. I am n't going to provide any hack to increase file sync faster i am going to give two basic tip so that you can send files easily to your Google drive or Dropbox folder.
One of tip is create Google Drive Folder shortcut in send to menu and another is Map a Drive letter to Google drive. If you create Google Drive Folder shortcut in send to menu then you can easily send file from you current location to Google drive folder without going into Google drive folder so it will decrease your time and your file get synced faster.
How to create send to menu shortcut for Google Drive.
One of tip is create Google Drive Folder shortcut in send to menu and another is Map a Drive letter to Google drive. If you create Google Drive Folder shortcut in send to menu then you can easily send file from you current location to Google drive folder without going into Google drive folder so it will decrease your time and your file get synced faster.
How to create send to menu shortcut for Google Drive.
- Go to My Computer and type shell:sendto in address bar of my computer it will open send to folder in windows 7 and if your using windows xp type sendto in address bar of my computer.
- Now Right click in sendto folder and create new shortcut.
- Now Browse the location of Google drive folder to create shortcut. for windows 7 the location is "C:\Users\USERNAME\Google Drive" and replace USERNAME with your user name.
- Now press next and give shortcut name like by default it is Google Drive only then click finish.
Now you can send any file from any drive to Google drive using send to menu and so you can sync file faster. Similarly you can create send to shortcut for Dropbox.
Map a Drive letter to Google Drive
- Download Visual subst and install in you PC.
- Now select any Drive letter you want and Browse the location of Google drive folder by clicking on small magnifying glass icon or directly provide path of Google drive folder.Path of Google drive folder in windows 7 is "C:\Users\USERNAME\Google Drive" and replace USERNAME with your windows user name.
- Check the box Apply virtual drivers on windows startup so that drives visual after computer restart.
- No click small green plus icon to add in to you computer.
- Now you can see Google drive folder as a drive letter in My computer.
